City Rider Extreme Bike Race for Android

Race on the smallest motorbike you've ever seen

City Rider Extreme Bike Race is a racing game (in case you haven't guessed) for people with small fingers, great eyesight, and a huge amount of patience.

Tame

The aim of the game is pretty simple: cross the finish line without exploding by avoiding the other traffic while collecting as many coins as you can. For a game that has the word extreme in its title, I've never said anything more tame.

City Rider Extreme Bike Race is lacking in any kind of excitement. You're riding along on a miniscule motorbike trying not to bump into obstacles that are almost smaller than the eye can see. When you do hit something, your phone vibrates. If you collide twice, there is a very small explosion.

Slow

The tilt controls are sorely lacking in sensitivity (I defy you not to shout "move" at the screen) while the accelerator and brake buttons are so small you need a microscope to see them. The whole game is frustratingly slow - from the racing, to the loading times, right down to just progressing through the stages.

The graphics have been hastily put together and are completely lacking in detail. The motorbike is a garish shade of lime green, which is about all you can see of it because it's so small. The gas can - that is one of the power ups you can collect - looks like it's been drawn by a child.

Avoid

City Rider Extreme Bike Race seems like it belongs to the early days of smartphones when apps and games were a lot more basic and they were forced to cater to the resolution of the phone. Given that things have progressed considerably since then there really isn't any excuse for this kind of poor design and execution. A game to avoid (unless you have to review it).
